Jordan is named after the Jordan river where Jesus have been baptized by John the Baptist. This fact is enough to describe the importance of Jordan as biblical country. Jordan, also has an important role for the traveler travelling to biblical sites because of its significance with the Old and the New Testament.

Jordan in the Old Testament was the Land, the home where three of the Israeli tribes were settled according to the book of Joshua: the tribes of Reuben, Gad and Mannaseh. Before this, biblical interpretations have been located the story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden to an area along the North-west bank of the river Jordan known as Beysan. The land of Jordan witnessed the mission of prophets to the rise of the Christian faith.

Reminders of this past are everywhere in Jordan. In that land Jacob wrestled with the Angel of God, Lot’s wife was turned into a pillar of salt, Job suffered and rewarded for his faith, Elijah ascended to Heaven. Is the place where Moses led the Israelites from Egypt to Holy Land and delivered God’s Law to mankind. It is where Jesus were baptized by John and anointed by God, where his called his first disciples and where Holy Trinity manifested itself. It is the land of miracles, a place where the biblical figures and the events of the Bible are all around you.
